Peripheral Stenting & Angioplasty

An Angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure to improve blood flow in the body's arteries. It is performed to reopen a blocked or narrowed artery by inserting a thin plastic tube (catheter) through the narrowing and inflating a small balloon on the catheter.

During angioplasty, a small wire mesh tube called a stent may be permanently placed in the newly opened artery to help it remain open.

The angioplasty usually takes about 60 minutes to perform but we will need to observe you following the angiogram and an overnight stay is usually required.
