Dr Brendan Steinfort is a Radiologist with specialist skills in Interventional Neuro Radiology. He graduated in medicine from the University of Queensland in 1997 and accepted a position at Royal North Shore Hospital in 2002 where he completed training as a specialist radiologist. In 2005 he went on to be the inaugural interventional neuroradiology fellow and then undertook a second fellowship at The National Hospital of Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queens Square London in diagnostic Neuro Radiology and interventional Neuro Radiology.
Dr Steinfort is a senior lecturer for the medical faculty in Neuro Radiology at UWS and is a national and international lecturer on advanced aspects of interventional neuroradiology. He also performs all general interventional radiology procedures, is active in teaching radiology registrars how to perform interventional radiology procedures. In addition, Dr Steinfort teaches other interventional neuroradiologists advanced aspects of procedures across Australia.
Dr Steinfort is the director of clinical training for radiology at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Steinfort is an avid rugby supporter and was the official team doctor for the ARU classic Wallabies on their tour to the Bermuda Classic in 2012, where the Classic Wallabies defeated the Classic Springboks in the final to win the championship for the first time in twenty-four years.
Dr Steinfort has extensive experience in Neuro Radiology, interventional Neuro Radiology and general interventional radiology, with special interests in neurovascular disease including: cerebral aneurysm, AVM and dural AV Fistulas embolisation, intracranial stenting and internal carotid artery stenting.
